Welcome to China Diner

Located in the heart of Beaconsfield, China Diner is a family-owned restaurant specialising in authentic Szechuan and Pekinese cuisine. The restaurant was founded in 1978 by restaurateur George Li, at a time when Pekinese cooking was only just beginning to appear in the UK. His skill, dedication and keen eye for quality laid the foundations for what would become a much-loved local restaurant, proudly independent and a favourite in Beaconsfield for almost 50 years.

George’s daughter, Pui, and her husband Eric later took over the restaurant from George and continued to build on his legacy. For 24 years they maintained the high standards he had set, serving innovative yet authentic traditional Chinese dishes for guests to enjoy both in the restaurant and at home.

In 2026, China Diner entered a new chapter with new owners Tony and Tina Zhu, who are proud to continue the restaurant’s tradition and carry the China Diner legacy forward.

We have a number of events throughout the year including; New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day etc. Our events are bookable in advance and include a bespoke set menu and live entertainment.

Or, why not have the whole restaurant? Be it a special birthday, an anniversary or a family get together, we can accommodate up to 70 people seated. We are happy to discuss any special requirements, menu options and can assist in hiring a band or even the Chinese Lion for that special occasion...
